Sweding-American destination wedding at Château Ermenonville

This destination wedding was a fairytale dream come true set in the most perfect location at Château Ermenonville. Just an hour away from Paris, it's great for weddings and elopements and can easily accommodate larger groups. There are 4 reception rooms with a capacity of 10 to 170 people seated (up to 300 people in cocktail configuration) and gourmet meals are provided directly by the domaine, so there is no need to look for an outside caterer. It also has 50 rooms for the accommodation of your guests and a dedicated wedding manager to help you organize your celebration to perfection if you choose to skip a wedding planner.

For this wedding we both shot together. Fede took on the role of second shooter to get more angles during the ceremony and also during the cocktail reception with the guests, while Anastasia did the couple portrait session. Our team was joined by Paris videographer Lana Karalus that we often work together with and we love the film she captured!

This wedding is a perfect example of how elegant your French destination celebration can look like even when you plan it yourself. Our stunning bride Evelyn did her own hair and make up and looked so radiant. There were many personal details that made this day so special. For example, Zach chose one of his friends to be a "bodyguard" for the suitcase cuffed to his arm carrying the rings. The groom also had "Jag älskar dig" embroidered on the back side of his collar which translated from Swedish means "I love you". What a cute nod to Evelyn's heritage and family!

It was important for Evelyn and Zach to have their wedding ceremony be officiated by an English speaking protestant/catholic pastor, so we reached out to the American church in Paris and they were super helpful to get them in touch with a pastor who came to officiate directly at the château. Evelyn's dad and sisters sang a beautiful song that got us all very emotional during the ceremony, and then it was up to the DJ Funky Banguy Food to provide a perfect musical backdrop to the rest of the evening. As an homage to the Swedish side of the party there was lots of ABBA of course and it was legendary!
